Kids Photography Walkshop

A Photography Walkshop for Kids

Join us for a magical photo walk designed for kids ages 9 to 14.

A kid's photo walk can teach them about observation, storytelling, and basic photography concepts like composition and the rule of thirds.

Encourage them to explore their surroundings, capture interesting details, and think about the stories they want to tell with their photos.

Observation and Storytelling:

Encouraging kids to look closely at their surroundings: Point out textures, colors, shapes, and details that might otherwise be overlooked.

Helping them identify subjects that spark their interest:

A vibrant flower, a curious insect, or a fascinating building can be a great starting point.

Prompting them to think about the story behind their photos:

What's happening in the picture? How does the photo make them feel? What can they tell about the time or place?

Suggesting creative prompts:

Asking them to take photos of something that makes them laugh, something that's "a little scary," or something that represents "summer".

Basic Photography Concepts:

Composition:

Introducing the concept of the rule of thirds, where the subject is placed off-center to create a more visually interesting image.

Close-up photography:

Encouraging them to get close to their subjects and capture details that might be missed from a distance.

Experiment with different angles:

Showing them how changing their perspective (looking up, looking down, looking sideways) can create different effects.

Consider using different colors and textures:

Pointing out how different colors and textures can add visual interest to their photos.

In this walkshop experience, young photographers will learn to see with new eyes as we explore the art of photography in a fun, relaxed, and imaginative way.

Together, we’ll wander through nature or a nearby park, discovering how to capture beauty through composition, light, and perspective.

This isn’t about perfect pictures, it’s about noticing the small wonders, expressing what we feel, and having fun doing it.

No fancy cameras needed, just a curious heart and a phone or simple camera.

What they’ll explore:

How to frame a shot with intention and creativity.

Playing with angles, shadows, reflections, and focus.

Seeing everyday things in extraordinary ways.

Expressing emotion through imagery.

A gentle invitation to mindfulness through the lens.
